Towns Not Weighing In Yet On Waxman-Dingell
If Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) succeeds in his attempt to wrest control of the Energy and Commerce Committee from current chairman John Dingell (D-Mich.), his departure from the Oversight and Government Reform Committee would make Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) the senior-ranking member.
Congress Daily has reported that Towns is backing Dingell in the struggle, but Towns' spokeswoman, Shrita Sterlin, says that he hasn't announced his decision on the matter and that "our office did not provide any reference for the [Congress Daily] story on record or on background."
The report on Towns' support of Dingell is sourced in the article to "one staffer."
