Torso found on Seattle recycling plant conveyer belt

(CBS/KIRO/AP) SEATTLE - Police launched a homicide investigation after workers at a Seattle recycling plant found a human torso on a conveyer belt Friday morning.

Police were called to CDL Recycling at about 10:45 a.m. to examine the remains, reports CBS affiliate KIRO.

The company told KIRO that the body did not end up on the conveyer belt as part of an industrial accident.

KIRO reports that the body was that of an adult male who, according to an employee, did not work at the recycling plant.

Seattle police say the remains were brought to the plant from another location.
