Tony Awards 2014 gets an airdate

A date for Broadway's biggest night has been set! The Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Sunday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The Tony Awards, which honors theater professionals for their achievements on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978.

A host for the show has yet to be announced, but Neil Patrick Harris lent his emcee skills for

this year's broadcast (as well as three times before). The nominations for the awards will be announced live on Tuesday, April 29 from New York City.

Next year marks the 68th anniversary of the Tony Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947, at the Waldorf Astoria's Grand Ballroom.
