Tonia Schurman, Fla. mom, flees with three children ordered into state custody, police say
(CBS/AP) DELTONA, Fla. - Authorities are searching for a central Florida woman who they say fled with her three young children who were ordered into state custody.
Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson says the search for Tonia Schurman, 27, began Monday. They believe she is traveling with her children - two girls and a boy ranging in age from 4 months to 8 years.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports a judge recently ordered the Department of Children and Families to take custody of 8-year-old Ibraheem Ayoub, 6-year-old Yasmin Ayoub and 4-month-old Madaleen Ayoub. The reason for the judge's order was not immediately known.
Officials say Schurman and the children may be in a black 2003 sport utility vehicle.
