Tom Hanks' son Chet says he is a recovering cocaine addict

It isn't easy living in the shadow of Tom Hanks -- just ask his son Chet.

Chet, whose mom is Rita Wilson, posted a series of Instagram videos in which he revealed that he is a recovering cocaine addict. He blamed his addiction partially on the pressures of being the son of the revered actor.

"It's been a long journey discovering who I am because all the pressures that I've dealt with in my life -- you know, being the son of my dad and everything," confessed Chet.

Chet not only admitted to doing drugs, but also said he sold drugs in the past, and snorted cocaine so often that he clogged his nose.

"A couple months ago I was selling coke," he said. "Doing coke until I couldn't even snort it up my nose anymore because it was so clogged. I even smoked crack."

Chet said that he has been in rehab, and feels good about his recovery so far.

"I've been trying to get my s**t together and I'm doing pretty damn good," he said. "I just really had to take a look at myself and my life and the way s**t was going and all the crazy stupid s**t I was doing and just finally admit to myself that it wasn't working."

You can find all of Chet's confessional videos on his Instagram page.
