Up to the Minutesize>
Tom Bradford has been executive producer of Up to the Minute, CBS News' overnight news and feature broadcast, since its premiere in March 1992.
Bradford developed the innovative concept of Up to the Minute, the first broadcast outlet to begin regular coverage of the Internet, including a weekly session with editors from Wired magazine. Up to the Minute also was the first network news broadcast with its own site on the World Wide Web.
Prior to becoming executive producer of Up to the Minute, Bradford had been CBS News' director of recruitment and night news manager (1991-1992). Previously, he held a variety of positions at CBS News, including producer of America Tonight, the late-night news broadcast hosted by Charles Kuralt and Lesley Stahl during the Persian Gulf War, and senior producer of This Morning and Morning News. He also had been deputy foreign editor (1985-1986).
Before joining CBS News, Bradford was managing editor for news at KNXT (now KCBS-TV), the CBS-owned television station in Los Angeles. He joined KNXT in May 1978 as producer of Channel 2 News at Six. Prior to that, he was a producer of the 10:00 PM broadcast at WBBM-TV, the CBS-owned television station in Chicago.
He was born December 24, 1942 in Philadelphia, and attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
