Toddler missing from Rhode Island home found in "good health"

JOHNSTON, R.I. Authorities in Rhode Island have charged a man with murder and kidnapping following a double homicide in Rhode Island that touched off a search for a missing toddler.

Johnston Police Chief Richard Tamburini on Monday identified the victims as 40-year-old Evelyn Burgos and her daughter, 25-year-old Vanessa Perez. The two women were found shot to death early Sunday in a Johnston home.

Burgos' 2-year-old son, Isaiah Perez, was found unharmed Sunday night wandering through a Providence housing project.

Daniel Rodriguez was arraigned Monday on two counts of murder as well as burglary, kidnapping and gun charges. He was apprehended Sunday and is being held without bail.

Authorities say Rodriguez is Burgos' boyfriend but not the boy's father.

A second man, 22-year-old Malcolm Crowell, was arrested, but Tamburini says he is no longer a suspect. Crowell has been released.
