Time-lapse video shows haboob (intense duststorm) hit Phoenix

(CBS News) Did you know there was a pretty epic dust storm that hit Phoenix over the weekend? If you happen to live in the area, I'm pretty sure you're already aware of it, but for those who are just now hearing about it (or know about it and want to see it take place in an amazing time-lapse format), you'll want to check the above video out.

Wow.  Nature sure is scary sometimes.  The video was posted on June 16th by YouTube user whittakerbrock who writes about it:

This is a timelapse of the Phoenix Sandstorm from Maricopa, AZ that hit at 5.30 PM.

This is actually not the first time we've had video here on The Feed showing an "haboob", or massive duststorm, occur in the Phoenix-area. We had a similar one surface almost one year ago to the day which you can check out by clicking here.

And in a case of fortuitous timing, because of dangerous storms like this the Arizona Department of Transportation was recently encouraging Twitter users to tweet haikus around the theme of safe driving in the midst of "haboobs" right before this event took place.
