Woman last seen near Talladega Superspeedway still missing

LINCOLN, Ala. -- The search for a missing Calhoun County, Ala. woman last seen heading towards the Talladega Super Speedway Oct. 19 is stretching into its 11th day.

Citing investigators, CBS affiliate WIAT reports 42-year-old Theresa Benn was last seen around 2 a.m. that Sunday by her husband, who dropped her off on Speedway Industrial Drive in Lincoln reportedly because she wanted to go to a NASCAR race and he did not.

WIAT reports the intersection where Benn's husband dropped her off is about a two-and-a-half-mile walk from the speedway, located about 45 miles east of Birmingham.

Investigators reportedly don't know whether she made it or not.

Benn's husband didn't report her disappearance until 7:30 that evening, and investigators are reportedly trying to piece together what he was doing at that time.

Police told the station they couldn't confirm whether or not they have a person of interest in the case. They say they haven't ruled out foul play.

Friends and family have launched a social media campaign to try and spread the word about Benn's disappearance, reports the station.

Benn was last seen wearing blue jeans, pink cowboy boots, a black tank top and a large, diamond-covered belt and buckle, reports AL.com. She also goes by Theresa Andrews and Theresa Dulaney, reports the website.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 256-761-2141.
