The Young And The Restless
Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) may be in for a rough re-election ride, according to a new Hays Research poll conducted for the Alaska Democratic party.
Forty percent of voters said they were “very unlikely” to vote for Young in 2008, while only 20 percent said they were “very likely” to re-elect him. Forty percent of Alaskan voters said they had a positive feeling towards Young, while 41 percent felt negatively.
When asked if “the recent corruption investigations” would affect their vote, 28 percent said they were “a lot more unlikely” to vote for Young, while 42 percent said it would make no difference.
Earlier this month, Young had to fend off criticism after the New York Times reported he inserted a $10 million earmark for a Florida road project owned by a major contributor.
