The Wyoming Three

And then there were three.
The Wyoming Republican party’s central committee narrowed the list of potential successors to replace the late Sen. Craig Thomas (R-Wyo.). The three finalists are: state senator John Barrasso, former Assistant U.S. Attorney General Tom Sansonetti, and former state Treasurer Cynthia Lummis.

Gov. Dave Freudenthal (D-Wyo.) has until Monday, June 25 to choose one of the three candidates, who will serve out the next two years of Thomas’ term until a special election is held in 2008.  All the remaining candidates will be interviewing with Freudenthal by the end of the week.

“Our process worked really well,” said Wyoming Republican party chair Fred Parady. “We had a really deep bench and really wide-range of talented individuals.”
