The Web World Of Country Music

With the release of her second album, country music singer Sara Evans topped the Billboard country music singles chart. No Place That Far struck the right chords with critics and her growing number of fans.

You may have seen her perform on CBS News Saturday Morning's "Second Cup Café." If you want more, look no further than the Internet for everything from her bio and interviews to audio and video clips of her music. Country music information abounds on the Web.

The search begins with the artist's Web site, or that of her record label. Sara Evans is on www.twangthis.com, part of BMG Entertainment. There you can hear clips of four tracks from her latest album and see a video of No Place That Far. Be warned that in order to see and hear the clips on this and other sites, you may need to download a plug-in, which is usually available for free via a link on the site.

For more information and reviews of Evans' CD, see www.womenofcountry.com. Go to the album reviews archive to find out about her latest release. (They gave it four out of five stars.)

On the same site, you'll find more than 100 other country links. And, of course, as with many sites, you can buy the CD.

At Country.Com you can search by artist for photos and audio clips. It also links you to Music Boulevard where you can get Evans' reviews, song samples, track listing, and buy the CD. [CBS Corp. is the owner of Country.com.]

The Ultimate Band List has a "Sara Evans Showcase" with more audio samples, and a "Sara Evans Bulletin Board."

Interviews with artists can be found on Country Weekly Online. In her interview, Sara Evans talks about her success, her home and her pregnancy. She found out just after New Year's Day that she and her husband Craig are expecting their first child.

If you still haven't had enough of Evans, you may have to resort to a live event. One more site to visit is pollstar.com, a concert tour database. There you can find a list of upcoming Evans concert dates in more than 20 cities.
