"Saw 4" makes its blood-splattered debut. For audiences who prefer lighter material check out Steve Carell's new film "Dan In Real Life." Also, Carrie Underwood's new album, "Carnival Ride," has generated a lot of buzz. It's all inside ShowBuzz's Weekly Forecast.

MOVIES
"Saw 4" could be the grizzliest yet in the horror movie franchise. Tobin Bell stars as SWAT Commander Rigg, who is abducted by Jigsaw and has only 90 minutes to extricate himself from the madman's traps.

"Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" is a classic heist-gone-wrong thriller with an all-star ensemble. Oscar award-winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke play brothers who plan to rob a local jewelry store. There's only one problem: the store is owned by their parents.

"Dan In Real Life" headlines Steve Carell as an advice columnist raising a household of girls. His life is turned upside down when he finds out the love of his life is dating his brother.

"Martian Child" is a romantic drama starring Joan Cusack and Amanda Peet. They adopt a young boy and after a string of unusual events they come to realize their adopted child is out of this world.

Carrie Underwood unveils her latest album, "Carnival Ride," a 13-track CD highlighted by the single "So Small."

PBS' "Wired Science" series will grow on you. PBS features a segment regenerative medicine, including a man who grew back his entire finger tip. Correspondent Adam Rogers scours a Kansas wheat field looking for asteroids. The series airs Wednesday at 8 p.m.

"CSI: New York" goes cross-platform as Gary Sinise has to track down the suspect on "Second Life" this Wednesday only on CBS.

BOOKS

"Book Of The Dead" shows Patricia Cornwell is still on top of her game. America's No. 1 bestselling crime writer keeps up her signature forensic detail.

"Rigged: The True Story of an Ivy League Kid Who Changed the World of Oil, from Wall Street to Dubai" by Ben Mezrich follows the seedy travails of an Italian-American man who changed the oil trading industry.

"Shakespeare: The World as Stage" by Bill Bryson offers an entertaining take on how little we actually know about the great bard.

"Due Considerations: Essays and Criticism" compiles prolific author Jon Updike's musings on cars, poker and the American libido.

DVD

"The Sopranos -- Season 6, Part 2" is loaded with special features including a sneak peek at Christopher's slasher film "Cleaver."


Onstage At The Emmys
"Meet the Robinsons" is about an orphan who is transported into the future by a mysterious stranger. The Disney film features a stellar cast of Angela Bassett, Kelly Ripa, Tom Selleck, Adam West and Steve Zahn.

"Mr. Brooks" is a delicious thriller in which Demi Moore hunts for a vicious murder played by a dapper Kevin Costner.

THEATER

"A Bronx Tale" stars Chazz Palminteri, Chazz Palminteri and Chazz Palminteri. The actor plays an astonishing 18 parts in the semi-autobiographical play based on his rough and tumble childhood. The play opens Oct. 25.
