The Real Break-Up: Jen & Vince Split

Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn starred in "The Break-Up." A year later, life is imitating art.

Reps for the couple tell People that the actors decided to part ways after Aniston's trip to visit Vaughn on the set of his film in London several weeks ago.

The decision to split was mutual, but they "continue to be good friends today," their reps tell the magazine.

According to People, Vaughn has been shooting the comedy "Fred Claus" in London since September while Aniston has been busy with projects in New York and L.A.

Aniston has three films due out next year.

Dogged by break-up rumors in October, Aniston appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and denied that she and Vaughn had broken up.

Vaughn even took legal action against the New York Post, the Sun, and the Daily Mirror for saying that Vaughn kissed a "mystery woman" at a charity event in London.

According to a statement released by a U.K. law firm representing the actor, "Mr. Vaughn will argue that the photo was seriously misleading and the suggestion that he was having a passionate embrace and kiss, or has ever been unfaithful to Ms. Aniston, are false."

In August, Us Weekly reported that Vaughn had proposed to Aniston on June 27 on a private jet after a trip to Mexico. Janice Min, the editor in chief of Us Weekly, appeared on the "Today" show Aug. 9 and told co-anchor Ann Curry, "This engagement happened more than six weeks ago ... Vince had the ring, he got down on one knee and proposed. And Jennifer said yes on the flight."

Aniston later told People magazine that she was not engaged. "I'm not engaged and I don't have a ring and I haven't been proposed to," she said.

Aniston was married to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005.
