"The Hunger Games": See the eight new character posters

(CBS) May the odds be ever in their favor.

Lionsgate has released eight new character posters for the upcoming big-screen adaptation of "The Hunger Games."

Fans have already gotten glimpses of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, but this is the first they've seen of some of the film's other major characters.

The other posters include Elizabeth Banks as Effie (with her signature wild hair and makeup), Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy and Lenny Kravitz as Cinna. There's also two of Katniss and Peeta's fellow Hunger Games competitors - Rue (Amandla Stenberg) and Cato (Alexander Ludwig).

The film hits theaters on March 23, 2012.
