The new Fox series "The Following" is off to a strong start.
The drama, starring Kevin Bacon as a former FBI agent who returns to track down a serial killer and his cult of followers, earned 10.4 million viewers during its debut Monday night.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The Following" also earned a 3.1 rating with adults ages 18-49. That ties the show with CBS' "Elementary" as the second-highest rated drama debut of the new season (behind NBC's "Revolution").
The show, from "Scream" and "The Vampire Diaries" creator Kevin Williamson, also stars James Purefoy, Shawn Ashmore, Natalie Zea and Annie Parisse.
