"We're no longer engaged," Maynard told People magazine, after taping an interview with "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison for a segment to air during the July 11 episode of "The Bachelorette."

Womack, 38, didn't participate in the on-camera interview, but told the magazine in a statement that "the demise of our relationship was completely my fault."

Womack proposed to Maynard, a 25-year-old single mom from Charlotte, N.C., on the season finale of "The Bachelor" in March. After the show aired, rumors began swirling about their relationship status. The couple acknowledged in a statement at the time that they were "madly in love" but it had been "a bumpy couple of months."

In May, Maynard was spotted without her engagement ring, leading to more speculation about a breakup.
