Texas Jail Break Update: Search continues for 2 East Texas escapees
(CBS/AP) SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas - Police on Wednesday are resuming the search a capital murder suspect and a convicted drug offender who escaped an East Texas prison yesterday.
Brian Tucker, 44, and 39-year-old John King were still at large, the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office said. The air and ground search that ended late Tuesday night was resuming at dawn Wednesday as rain fell in the area.
The inmates fled Tuesday morning from the jail in Sulphur Springs, about 75 miles northeast of Dallas, by scaling a fence or slipping through a gap.
Tucker faces trial in the 2011 slaying of Bobby Riley of Mahoney. King pleaded guilty last month to drug possession as a habitual offender and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
