Arnold Schwarzenegger is expressing interest in running for governor in 2002.

The latest superstar with political aspirations, Schwarzenegger told Talk magazine that there is a vacuum in politics and he has thought seriously about running for governor of California.

The Austrian-born actor and body builder, who is married to a Kennedy, says he thinks of himself as a compassionate conservative in the mold of Republican presidential hopeful George W. Bush.

Schwarzenegger tells Talk a lot of people in politics are standing still and doing nothing.

Schwarzenegger's wife, newscaster Maria Schriver, is the niece of Sen. Ted Kennedy and assassinated president John F. Kennedy.
