'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans in court Friday for assault charge
(CBS) Jenelle Evans, reality TV star of "Teen Mom 2" fame, was heading to court Friday morning for a trial in connection to her assault case earlier this year.
The 19-year-old Evans was charged in March with assault after her alleged fight with Britany Truett over a boy, Radar Online reports. A video of the fight in North Carolina surfaced online.
"We have the fight case for a simple assault. We are going to trial and no plea offers have been given," Evans' attorney, Dustin Sullivan, told Radar Online in an interview. Sullivan said the only plea offer they would accept is a dismissal.
The worst case scenario, according to Sullivan, is that Evans is found guilty and given probation, which she will be able to appeal. One month after the fight, Evans was given 12 months of probation and community service for a drug paraphernalia charge. She completed her stay at a Malibu rehab treatment center but had previously violated her probation twice.
Sullivan says he's confident Evans won't have problems in court. He also said that she has been testing clean.
