Teen gunned down outside Va. high school; suspects sought

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Authorities are searching for three suspects in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy who was gunned down near his Woodbridge, Va. high school Monday afternoon., reports CBS affiliate WUSA.

The victim has been identified by Prince William County Police as Brenden Wilson, a Woodbridge Senior High School student.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 4:28 p.m. Monday and found the 16-year-old, who was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Witnesses in the area say they heard about six or seven gunshots, reports the station. The incident happened on a path directly behind the school parking lot.

Police say they are searching for one white male and two black males in connection with the shooting. All three fled the scene in a pickup truck, police said, according to WUSA.

Police have not said whether the suspects have any connection with the school. The high school is closed Tuesday for Veterans Day.
