TB Patient To Testify Wednesday Before Senate Subcommittee

Andrew Speaker, the man quarantined with a rare strain of tuberculosis, will testify remotely before a Senate Appropriations subcommittee Wednesday on the risk of the disease.

The 31-year-old Atlanta resident has been quarantined in Denver after flying to and from Europe with this rare strain of the virus.

Speaker will appear before the subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services along with Julie Gerberding, the directof of the Centers for Disease Control about the international public threat of tuberculosis.
