Taser used on naked woman who allegedly attacked Calif. police

(CBS) - A naked 43-year-old woman was tasered after she allegedly attacked an officer outside her Southern California apartment, according to police.

The Burbank Police Department received several calls on Thursday from neighbors reporting that a woman was throwing items at car windows on their block.

According to the Glendale News-Press, when the officers arrived at the scene, she told them that a man inside her apartment was causing her to act erratically.

When officers attempted to enter the apartment, she allegedly started throwing household items and kicked one of the officers in the groin.

According to the police report obtained by the paper, that's when an officer fired a single Taser jolt at the woman, temporarily stunning her so she could be subdued.

Paramedics took her to the hospital and she has since been placed in a psychiatric treatment center for evaluation.

The woman, who has not been named, is facing charges for vandalism and assaulting a police officer.
