Tanker truck on fire on Pomona Freeway
A tanker truck that was traveling east on Route 60, otherwise known as the Pomona Freeway, near Montebello, Calif. flipped over and burst into flames.
According to CBS station KCBS in Los Angeles, the accident occurred at 12:10 p.m. Both sides of the freeway were shut down due to the intense smoke. The burning truck is located partially beneath the Paramount Boulevard overpass.
CHP officials told Pasedena Star News that they have have found the driver and he is safe. There are no immediate reports of people injured.
The fire may have damaged the Paramount bridge, so there is no word when the freeway will reopen, according to Pasedena Star News.
