Taliban Claims Responsibility For Khost Attack

The militant Afghani Taliban movement claimed responsibility for the attack on a NATO Base in Khost Wednesday, which left seven people deal.

Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement posted on the group's website today that a suicide bomber called Zackarias has detonated his car bomb at the gate of the Sarbagh air base in Khost where several Afghan and U.S. troops were standing.

"The attack was carried out using a Toyota Corolla and it led to the killing of 36 people including U.S. soldiers, local soldiers, and a number of Afghan interpreters," Mujahid said. He added that 30 suicide bombers had stormed a number of government buildings in the city yesterday, and that eight of them carried out suicide attacks and the remaining 22 returned safely to their bases.
