Syria: This is a really hard one

President Obama is reconsidering his opposition to arming the Syrian Rebels after reports surfaced of the Assad regime using chemical weapons in their ongoing fight.

There is no doubt this is a tough decision for the President. If the United States decides to arm the rebels, there is a chance some of those groups could be affiliated with al Qaeda. It has been difficult to tell the good guys from the bad and it would be detrimental to U.S. interests if we unintentionally gave weapons to the Taliban or al Qaeda.

At this point, it is hard to say what would happen should the Assad regime fall. Looking back at recent problems in Libya, we heard people in government say it would implode. Discussions about Syria suggest it would explode. The outcome of this situation, good or bad, will have an effect on other countries around the world. This is really a hard one.

This weekend we'll be discussing the latest on the Syrian civil war with Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee Darrell Issa, who also has new information on the September 11th attack in Benghazi. We'll also talk to the chairman of House Intelligence Mike Rogers and the ranking democrat on the committee Dutch Ruppersberger

To round it all out, I'm looking forward to a discussion on the emergence of gays in athletics. We'll hear from two former tennis greats, Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova, as well as former Baltimore Ravens linebacker, now free agent, Brendon Ayanbadejo and former NFL linebacker Esera Tuaolo, who after leaving the league, announced that he was gay in 2002. Then we'll talk about Jason Collins' revelation he is gay means for the future of professional sports with a panel including NFL Players Association President Domonique Foxworth, Owner of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and Mystics Ted Leonsis, New York Times sports writer Bill Rhoden and managing editor of Sports Illustrated Chris Stone.
