Sync Outlook Tasks to Your iPhone with KeyTasks
The iPhone has no trouble syncing with Outlook's calendar and contact manager, but it doesn't do tasks -- a major letdown for anyone who relies heavily on their to-do list. Enter Chapura KeyTasks, which makes simple work of syncing Outlook tasks to an iPhone (or iPod touch).
After installing the KeyTasks app on your device, you set up a MyChapura user account, then download a small Windows utility that syncs your Outlook tasks with Chapura's servers (at your desired frequency: every 15, 30, or 60 minutes, or manually). The KeyTasks app syncs wirelessly with that server. Thus, while synchronization between desktop and device isn't instaneous or direct, it's automated (or on-demand).
You can, of course, create new tasks on your device, complete with due date, priority, notes, etc. KeyTasks works with or without an Exchange server and supports Outlook 2003 and 2007. It doesn't yet recognize task categories, but will in a future release.
I just took the $9.99 app for a spin, and while the initial setup was a little cumbersome, ultimately the program worked as advertised. Finally, I can have my task list on my touch! Well worth the price of admission.
