Sydney's Cultural Treasure

A ferry sails past the Sydney Opera House as balloons are released and celebrations begin for the famous Australian landmark's 25th birthday.

Construction of the Opera House began in 1957, with the expectation that it would take 4 years to build and cost about $4.5 million U.S. dollars.

Fourteen years and $60 million later, the Opera House was opened by Queen Elizabeth II.
