"Survivor: Philippines" recap: "Little Miss Perfect"
Lisa Welchel revealed Wednesday that she's been diagnosed with West Nile virus, but on that night's episode of "Survivor: Philippines," the former "Facts of Life" star was struggling with something different - the strategic aspects of the game.
The episode picked up with the fallout from last week's Tribal Council, and Lisa wondering if she can continue to play the game without losing her moral compass. Malcolm tried to comfort her, but she still said: "I love this game. But I think it's too big for me."
The reward challenge involved the nine castaways dividing into two teams to crawl through a muddy obstacle course while collecting bags of balls, which then had to be shot into a basket. The competitors chose the teams themselves, and Abi-Maria sat out the task because she was not picked.
Penner devised a strategy where he located all four of his team's bags himself, and left the remaining ones behind so they could scoop them up easily while going through the course. It paid off, and his team won.
The immunity challenge called for competitors to balance on an oversized paddle while trying to roll six balls into designated spots. Skupin wins.
Back at camp, Denise, Malcolm and Carter decide to target Artis for elimination, and Penner tries to convince Lisa to think about basing her strategy on what "Survivor" viewers would want to see.
At Tribal Council, she tells Jeff Probst that she's received more grace from the people she was against than those within her alliance, but stated that she wants to stay loyal to her tribe.
In the end, that's what she does -- but Skupin flips on his tribe and Artis is eliminated by a vote of 5-4.
