Steve Powell, whose son Josh was married to Susan, reportedly emailed his supervisor to request sick leave on Dec. 8 and 9, 2009, which are the days when Josh rented a car and drove 800 miles after being interviewed by police.

Josh Powell killed himself and his two sons on Feb. 5. Powell shot reportedly hacked the boys to death and then set the house he was renting on fire.

Steve Powell was arrested in September 2011 and charged with 14 counts of voyeurism and one count of second-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Detectives reportedly found the images during a search of his computer related to his daughter-in-law's disappearance.

Last week, CBS affiliate KUTV reported that the initial police investigation found that "Steve Powell had a very strong obsession for his daughter-in-law, Susan Powell," according to the search warrant. In addition, police said they found secretly taken photos of Susan in her underwear in Steve Powell's home.

According to the Tribune, Steve Powell is not cooperating with police in their continued investigation of Susan Powell's disappearance.
