Stars' Matvichuk Out 2 Weeks

Dallas Stars defenseman Richard Matvichuk is expected to miss 10 to 14 days after he was placed on injured reserve today with a sprained knee.

Matvichuk, 26, was injured in Friday's 2-1 loss to Ottawa. Today's move was retroactive to Saturday. He has three goals and nine assists and his plus-23 rating is tops among Stars defensemen.

To fill Matvichuk's roster spot, Dallas recalled Brad Lukowich from Michigan of the IHL, where he has seven goals and 21 assists in 67 games. He played one game for the Stars before being returned to the K-Wings on Thursday.

Left wing Jamie Wright was returned to Michigan today after playing three of Dallas' last four games.

The league-leading Stars also signed defenseman Alan Letang, who had three goals and nine assists in 41 games with the Canadian National team. He immediately was placed on waivers and will be assigned to Michigan as soon as the waiver period expires.
