Springsteen helps out Stewart Francke with song about Afghanistan war
(CBS) Stewart Francke imagined Bruce Springsteen's voice on the call-and-answer section of Francke's song, "Summer Soldier (Holler If Ya Hear Me)," and figured "it would remain just a wish."
Francke tells People it was "a tremendously cool thing for Bruce to do." (During the vocal back-and-forth, Springsteen is the voice singing the second "holler.") Francke interviewed soldiers to help him write the song about the Afghanistan war.
Francke's next live show is scheduled for May 26 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, opening for Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band.
