Sofa thieves return to store for matching cushions
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Authorities say thieves who made off with a rug and leather sofa during a smash-and-grab burglary in Grand Rapids, Mich. returned less than a week later for the sofa cushions.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Gorman's Home Furnishings was hit by furniture thieves Sunday morning, a few hours before opening for the day.
Manager Duane Petroskey says burglars broke through the store's rear entrance windows and stole leather sofa cushions that were left behind during a previous burglary March 3.
Petroskey called the theft "pretty amazing." He declined to say how much the sofa was worth, but described it as "expensive."
