Soap Star In Cocaine Bust

Television soap opera star Michael Nader, who has played a Count on ABC's All My Children for 10 years, was arrested Saturday and charged with selling cocaine in a Manhattan nightclub, police said Sunday.

Police said Nader was one of five people at the after-hours Barber Shop club in the East Village who were arrested. Nader was charged with allegedly selling a $20 bag of cocaine to an undercover police officer.

Police said that after his arrest, Nader was taken to the hospital for treatment for an undisclosed illness.

Nader, 56, made his name in TV as actress Joan Collins' love interest, Farnsworth "Dex" Dexter on the hit show Dynasty. In 1991 he started playing Count Dimitri Marick on All My Children.

Nader was also arrested in August 1997 after a brawl with Long Island police officers who had stopped him while allegedly driving drunk with his then 13-year-old daughter in the passenger seat.

Nader's management agency was not immediately available for comment.
