Soap opera actress charged with assault in bar fight

LOS ANGELES - A soap opera actress who has appeared on “One Life to Live” and “Guiding Light” was charged Wednesday with assault with a deadly weapon in a Dec. 2013 altercation at a West Hollywood bar, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Crystal Hunt, 29, pleaded not guilty to one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon, plus a special allegation that she used a glass as a weapon, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Hunt, who was freed after posting $30,000 bail, is scheduled to return to court Feb. 24.

Prosecutors say Hunt hurled a glass at a woman on Dec. 13, 2013 and that the victim suffered cuts to the face as a result.

Hunt’s attorney told TMZ Wednesday that the alleged victim instigated the fight and that Hunt meant to throw her water at the woman, but the glass slipped out of her hand.

If convicted as charged, Hunt faces five years in state prison.
