"So You Think You Can Dance" sends four dancers home after two-week hiatus

Contestants Amelia Lowe and Will Thomas perform a contemporary routine to "Koop Island Blues" choreographed by Mia Michaels on "So You Think You Can Dance" on Aug. 15, 2012. Fox

(CBS News) "So You Think You Can Dance" returned Wednesday night after taking a two-week hiatus because of the Olympics, and by the end of the episode four dancers were sent home.

The episode was a tribute to choreographer Mia Michaels, and each of the pairs performed routines she created during past "SYTYCD" seasons.

The dancers in the bottom six were (SPOILERS):

  • Amelia Lowe
  • Janelle Isis
  • Lindsay Arnold
  • Dareian Kujawa
  • Matthew Kazmierczak
  • George Lawrence II

The judges asked all six to dance for their lives, and decided to save Lindsay and George after their solos.

Because "So You Think You Can Dance" now airs on only one night of the week this season, that means Amelia, Janelle, Dareian and Matthew were eliminated based on routines they danced back on July 25.

Starting next week, the Top 10 will be dancing with all-star partners - dancers viewers will remember from previous seasons.

Tell us: What do you think of this week's "So You Think You Can Dance" eliminations?
