(CBS News) It's official: Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is pregnant and engaged. Following weeks of speculation, the "Jersey Shore" star finally confirmed she's with child and planning to walk down the aisle with boyfriend Jionni LaValle.

The 24-year-old Snooki - baby bump and all - graces the cover of the new issue of Us Weekly with the headline "OMG! I'm pregnant!". She tells the magazine she's 15 weeks along with LaValle's baby.

The couple found out right after New Year's Eve, and apparently Snooki wasn't expecting it. After learning of the pregnancy, she said, "'S--t, I've been drinking!'"

Snooki revealed, "I was worried. It was New Year's Eve and we were in Vegas, so I did go crazy."

But Snooki, who's known for her partying ways, plans to tone things down.

"I have different priorities now," the pint-sized reality star said. "I don't care what anybody else thinks. As long as I know I'm ready and he's ready."

"We are not going to screw this up," added LaValle, 24, who has worked as a wrestling coach for kids and is pursuing a teaching degree, Snooki told Jay Leno last year. Snooki and LaValle have been dating for about a year and a half.

Following the official announcement, LaValle also chimed in:

Fans have been waiting for Snooki to confirm the reports for weeks. Sources had said she had inked a deal with Us Weekly to announce the news, which ended up being the case.

Still, as recently as early February, Snooki kept her pregnancy quiet, even denying it on national television, telling "Good Morning America," "I definitely do want kids, but I'm not pregnant."

Snooki and her "Jersey Shore" co-hort, "JWoww" Farley, are currently filming a spin-off series in Jersey City, N.J.
