(CBS News) Grammy-nominated "Rhythm of the Night" singer El DeBarge was arrested in connection with a drug deal near Los Angeles, reports say.

The 50-year-old was busted by undercover cops near a freeway interchange in Encino, Calif., on Monday, an LAPD spokeswoman told the Los Angeles Times.

DeBarge was arrested for possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, according to TMZ. He was booked at a nearby jail and released on $30,000 bail. He is due back in court in April, according to the site.

This is the third time DeBarge has been arrested for drug possession since 2001.
