Shooting at central Fla. high school wounds one
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - Authorities say a male student was shot Wednesday afternoon outside West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Fla., and a search is on for the shooter, CBS affiliate WKMG reported.
The shooting occurred around 1:15
p.m. Orange County Public Schools spokeswoman Kathy Marsh said the wounded student
was alert before being taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
WKMG reports the school, which is located about 20 miles west of downtown Orlando, was not placed on lockdown because classes had already been dismissed due to a previously scheduled early dismissal.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office and Orange County Fire Rescue are investigating the shooting.
