Shimkus Get Slammed Over Baseball-Iraq Comparison

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is slamming Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) for comparing the Iraq war to a baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs.

Shimkus, a big baseball fan, was trying to compare the idea that setting a timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq is the same as the Cardinals leaving the field before a game with the Cubs is finished. With more than 3,300-plus Americans killed in Iraq, the analogy clearly was not a well-chosen one.
