Sheriff: Area where Holly Bobo's remains found was searched

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A sheriff says the wooded area where the remains of a Tennessee woman who disappeared more than three years ago were found had been searched after she went missing.

Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd said at a news conference Tuesday that authorities were following cellphone signals during the hunt for Holly Bobo in the days after her abduction on April 13, 2011, from her home in Parsons.

He says aircraft could not get a good look because of heavy tree foliage and ground searchers didn't find evidence of Bobo's remains. Authorities on Monday confirmed that remains found by hunters were those of Bobo.

An attorney Tuesday read a statement from Bobo's family that said they "continue to pray that someone will have the courage to step forward and shed more light on this senseless tragedy."
