Shelley Mook, Tenn. teacher, missing for a week, reports say

Shelbyville police are looking for missing teacher Shelley Mook. Shelbyville Police Department

(CBS/WTVF) SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - It has been one week since 8th-grade teacher and mother Shelley Mook was last seen, and her family has now come to Tennessee to keep up the momentum in the search.

Mook, 25, was last seen leaving work at Harris Middle School in Shelbyville on Monday, Feb. 28. She then went to drop off her 6-year-old daughter, Lily, at her ex-husband's home, Bedford County Sheriff Randall Boyce told CBS affiliate WTVF.

That same night, police found a Pontiac Grand Prix in flames on the side of Broad Street in Rutherford County.

Police say when Mook did not show up to work Wednesday her friends became worried, the station reports.

It wasn't until after she was reported missing on Wednesday that authorities determined the burned out car belonged to Mook.

Sheriff Boyce says they have very few clues as to as to what happened after Mook left her daughter at her ex-husband's home, because the case crosses two counties.

Mook's mother, brother and her best friend came from Pennsylvania to raise awareness about the case. They held a vigil on Sunday night attended by over 100 people at the steps of the Bedford County Courthouse.

Mook's family and friends are also offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Mook's safe return.
