Sheena Johnson, N.J. woman, charged with child endangerment after kids found living in storage unit
(CBS/AP) EWING, N.J.-- Sheena Johnson, a mother living with her two children in a 5-foot-by-10 foot storage unit in New Jersey, was charged with child endangerment on Wednesday, reported CBS Philly.
Johnson is accused of leaving her two sons, 5 and 10- years-old, alone in the unlit, sealed locker with no heat or running water, said the station.
According to CBS Philly, authorities found the children on April 18 after Johnson was arrested in Trenton, N.J. for allegedly slashing her ex-boyfriend's tires.
Police said they went to the locker after Johnson failed to adequately answer their questions about who was taking care of her children.
Johnson posted bail, which was set at $50,000, with the help of community members. She also said that she lived in the unit with her children for a month because she had no other choice, according to the station.
