Shannon Marie Hawkins (St. Johns County Sheriff's Office)

NEW YORK (CBS) Police in St. John's County, Fla. are looking for Shannon Marie Hawkins, a missing 35-year-old mother who was last seen in her home on July 31.

Police said Hawkins' husband, Paul Hawkins, last saw her as he was leaving their home with their two children to the mall. He said his wife was uneasy before he left.

Paul Hawkins told investigators when he returned home several hours later, both the front and back door were left unlocked. He also told police their cars were still parked at their residence.

"Someone either had to come pick her up or she had to have just walked away somewhere," he told The St. Augustine Record.

Paul Hawkins said his wife was recently released from a hospital for treatment of mental health issues, reports the local paper. He said his wife struggles with taking her prescription medication, which can alter her state of mind.

According to The St. Augustine Record, police have used dogs to search wooded-areas around the home.

"I just want her to come home and realize that our children need her in their lives," Paul Hawkins told the paper.

Shannon Marie Hawkins is described as white, 5'5", 135 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-824-8304.
