Senate Dems Sitting At 56 With Minn, Ore., Still Pending
With the Rocky Mountain News calling the Colorado Senate race for Democrat Mark Udall, Democrats are now up to 56 seats in the Senate, and tight races in Minnesota and Oregon have not been called.
Mitch McConnell's victory in Kentucky may prevent Democrats from hitting 60 tonight, and Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss in Georgia has an early lead over Democrat Jim Martin. If Chambliss pulls out a victory Dems will likely fall just short of the magic number of 60.
The Democratic rookie lineup so far tonight is Mark Warner of Virginia, Mark Udall of Colorado, Jean Shaheen of New Hampshire, Kay Hagan of North Carolina and Tom Udall of New Mexico.
