Senate Confirms Nussle As Budget Director

The Senate approved former Republican Rep. Jim Nussle of Iowa as the next White House budget director, putting the staunchly partisan former House member in the post just in time to spar with congressional Democrats in an expected debate over federal spending this fall.

The Senate approved Nussle as budget director by a relatively bipartisan vote of 69-24.
