Sen. Reid Top Per-Vote Spender
Sen. Harry Reid spent $22 for every vote he received in his narrow election victory over GOP Rep. John Ensign. That easily made Reid the biggest per-vote spender in the nation.

Ensign finished second by spending $13 per vote. GOP Sen. Alfonse D'Amato of New York finished third by spending $11.66 per vote in his failed bid to win re-election.
Overall, Reid spent $4.6 million and Ensign $2.7 million on the campaign. Nevada had the 10th most expensive Senate race in the nation.
