Seeking "Modern Bride Of The Year"
Are you the epitome of a modern bride? Think you have the right stuff?
The Early Show and click here to answer six questions and submit their photograph.
On May 16, Modern Bride Editor in Chief Antonia van der Meer told Early Show co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez, "It's really hard (to narrow down the contestants) because the entries are so good. We look for girls who are very confident, who aren't afraid to do their weddings their way, and this year, we're also looking for girls who have done a little something to give back to their families, or to their community and their friends -- so, an all-around great, modern bride is what we're looking for."
The entry period ends June 16.
At that point, Modern Bride editors will select their Top Ten picks and request videos from those women. The videos will be featured on Brides.com, where readers will be able to vote to determine the Top Five.
Those five will be flown to New York to appear on The Early Show, playing a "Price Is Right"-style game to determine which wedding object costs more of two similar-looking items.
Then, the five will head for Macy's, where they'll do a "supermarket-sweep"-type game to pick up as many registry items as possible. Highlights of the Macy's spree will be shown on the show, and viewers will get a chance to win their own Macy's shopping spree at Brides.com.
Next, we'll have a bridal fashion show with the five finalists, on The Early Show, and finally, the winner will be announced.
The Modern Bride of the Year will have her own photo session, where she'll pose the magazine's cover.
