Second Cup: Wayman Tisdale

Wayman Tisdale scored almost 12,900 points and pulled down more than 500 rebounds during his 12-year NBA career. He played for the Indiana Pacers, the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns.

As a smooth jazz bassist, Tisdale has put out five recordings with his Fifth Quarter Band.

Tisdale's 1995 debut album, "Power Forward," was recorded for the Motown subsidiary MoJazz. By 1996, his second album "In the Zone" was out. "Decisions" followed two years later, and "Face to Face" was issued in early 2001.

Visiting the Second Cup Café, Tisdale performs songs from his fifth CD, "Hang Time."

His official Web site says Tisdale is "at the top of his musical game on Hang Time, marking his debut on Rendezvous Entertainment, the label co-founded by saxophone star Dave Koz and earning a slot on the high-profile Dave Koz and Friends concert tour this summer."

The site says that, on "Hang Time," "Wayman continues to display the skills that landed his first four CDs in Billboard's Top Tens."

Tisdale describes the new album as "the perfect summertime BBQ CD, so get ready to hang!"
