Second Cup Cafe: Kerry Butler
Kerry Butler's current role in the Broadway hit musical "Xanadu" has earned her a Tony nomination for best actress. Now she's taking her talents off the big stage and into the recording studio.
The star stopped by the The Early Show's "Second Cup Cafe" Saturday to perform music from her debut album, "Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust."
A native of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, Butler started doing commercials at the young age of 3 and developed a love of the arts.
She made her Broadway debut as Belle in "Beauty And The Beast," a role she originated in Toronto.
Butler was nominated for a DORA award from the Toronto Alliance For The Performing Arts for her portrayal of Belle.
She's also appeared in the Broadway musicals "Blood Brothers," "Les Miserables," "Hairspray," and "Little Shop Of Horrors."
Her film and television credits include "Borough of Kings," "Campfire Stories," "One Life to Live," "Second Honeymoon" starring Roma Downey, "Sesame Street," "Hometown," "Another World" and the pilot "Twins," as well as several live performances on national television shows.
Butler has appeared on the NBC series "Lipstick Jungle" which stars Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price.
She plays Lindsay's backstabbing assistant, Reese, in a recurring role.
